Since life of the inmates at the jail leaves them with lot of time at hand and they are constantly struggling within themselves, some officials came up with idea of helping them better their perspective of life. Hence after an inmatestays at the jail, he is persuaded to take up spiritual and meditation causes like the Art of Living, Vipassana, Sehag Yoga etc. This is not only invokes the spirituality within him but also help him see life in a new light. His imagination gets fired with a new experience and it helps them achieve a peace within.

The superintendent of jail No-5 Sh. A K Singla saw the positive impact of this program on his inmates and came up with the idea of channelizing this new foundenergy in a better direction and create a channel of expression for the inmates. He organized facilities wherein the inmates were provided with paper, paint, brushes so that they could try to seek a new medium of expression for themselves.

In this effort Shri. Singla was supported and guided by Shri. Ajay Agarwal, The Addl. Director General ( P )who has been the harbinger of creating this consciousness. Several events have been organized to encourage the inmates.Eminent artistsand art critics like Anjolie Ela Menon, Sanjay Bhattacharyya etc. visited the jail and conducted workshops to guide and encourage them. They introduced them to new techniques of watercolours and oil paintings. Cartoonist, Shri. K K Raghava conducted workshops twice.
